so i renamed the files to .old and patched the other ones, but they were from the wrong OS! now i cant even get on my computer the error tells me that the files are for a different OS and all i see is a black screen past the login screen. i know if i could get to my system files and delete them my problem would be fixed but i have no access to the files. i have Vista, just got it. argh.

By using vistaglazz, is it the same as manually patching those .dll files?

YES! I love it, it feels soo safe too because it wont let you modify the system files if it doesnt recognize it, and it allows you to revert the system files back.
