Microsoft Virtual PC vs Parallels vs VMware

I haven't tried any of these virtual machine softwares so far but I want to install Windows Vista under Windows XP.
What is the best program for installing Vista in XP or XP in Vista?

I prefer VMWARE it is way better than VPC. VPC is free but it does not have all the futures that VMWARE has. Even VPC 2007 still sucks.

You forgot Bochs and QEmu, both opensource free VM's.

But for my money, VMWare Player is good, especially since you can make images to install from the free VMWare Player.

Bochs > http://bochs.sourceforge.net/
QEmu > http://fabrice.bella...qemu/index.html

I personally like Bochs myself, but i will admit that VMWare Player is nice in layout...

No Virtual Machine is too perfect to enable Vista's Aero interface. You have to use the standard visual style.

Parallels is not free so exclude it from the list.

Indeed they do not run smooth ... Maybe VM will in the next release because VPC 07 will not

i'd rather dualboot, even if it's a hassle

I'm not into Virtual Machine software, but yeah, VMware is good.

The Parallels beta includes a new feature, called Coherence, that hides the Windows desktop and allows you to run Windows apps in their own windows on your Mac desktop. The result is that you can intermingle all your Mac and Windows apps on the same desktop.

Watch this video of Parallels Desktop running Windows in Coherence mode.
