My first antivirus app was a Norton AntiVirus 2005, and one and a half year ago upgraded to NAV 2006.
Since then I have never had a virus, and that's the best evidence, you cannot trust the comparative reviews.
NAV 2006 offers spyware protection, but I still use Ad-Aware Professional SE, a reliable app.
I've tried BitDefender 9, NOD32 but NAV 2006 still rules....:D

I am not using antivirus now.

I am just using an firewall,i've used many kinds of antivirus software,i know Kaspersky is a memery hog.

bit defender is good.and nod is also great.

i also used dr.web made by Russia ,it's a powerful software, but when it's scannig your pc,it runs so slow.

NOD32 for me :)

I can't believe the amount of people that are using Norton :o

Huge resource needs, expensive and not even any good at protecting your computer!

Ihave to dissagree with you on norton as it wont let you format your drives etc. when you have storage drives. i use Avast and its found out alot of bugs and viruses that the others wont pick up.

give it a try

:D

Some say Norton and Symantec are one, but I use Symantec Corp. Ed. Works fine, no extra crap I don't use.

This poll is outdated. Certainly there can't be *that* many Norton users..

I suggest the mods/admin delete this thread and create a new one.

The usual trend in all other sites is that these type of usage polls are re-done yearly. So the "Best Antivirus poll" would become "Best Antivirus 2007 poll". Would certainly give a better idea about the usage and will help users make a better choice in choosing a right product.

I am using one care from Microsoft, but its for trial period only, after this I am going to shift back to Avast, its fast lite, and updates very often, and also detects any threat in real-time......

Why make a pool, when it is obvious that Kaspersky 6/7 is the best! (Official sources from Computerbild, PC praxis etc.) Strange that Norton is on top - it has taken 5 th place only in cbl! :(

Reviving this poll view the latest security scenario and introduction of new multi/all in one softwares, internet security softwares.
1. Which is the best way to keep a Computer more secure:
{a} Independant softwares for each threat eg. a firewall from comodo, antivirus NOD32, Spyware Doctor, Trojan Remover, Spam blocker etc ?

{b} An internet Security software fully bundled with Antivirus, Antispyware, keylogger, firewall, Spam remover etc..?
eg Bitdefender 2008, Kaspersky internet security 7, Norton 360, Mcafee 2008 Trend micro

2. Is it necessary to use a seperate antivirus software and anti spyware with the Internet security? if not so, what will the side effect ?

for eg I am using kaspersky internet security 7 but want NOD 32 and spyware doc also installed experts please comment
