Messenger: in case you use MSN messenger don't desactivate this

This service has nothing to do or link with MSN Messenger!!!!!! Is just a service to send and Alerter Service messages between clients and servers.

This is a complete section of services can you disable on Windows:
Windows Vista & XP Services Configurations by BlackViper
Ubuntu Intrepid if more faster than Vista but XP SP3 is faster than Intrepid.

Another vote for TuneUtilities 2008.

Hi, your list is totally wrong... Here are just a few examples:Control panel -> Administrative tools -> Services
From here desactivate the following services:
Help and Support
Messenger: in case you use MSN messenger don't desactivate this
Print Spooler: in case you use printer don't desactivate it
Server
- Should be manual so that if Windows help is needed, it can be started.
- Messenger has nothing to do with Windows/MSN Messenger.
- Print spooler is also for virtual printers (like print to file).
- If you disable Server, why not also disable Workstation (LAN will be unavailable).

Ha..ha..sometimes we still need xp to run some old programs and games, also for other purposes and so on (Old hardwares etc). And Xp is still a very stable, worth, and reliable OS for that, since it's been proved for years. But honestly i agree/believe that Windows 7 is and will be better than both Xp and Vista

Finally May God bless Windows 7 but also long live Xp! It's just my personal opinion so peace everybody!

1. Del (not disable) Prefetch folder after along time (about one month).
2. Defragment all drive.
3. Using Tuneup > scan, defragment and fix error registry.
4. Turn off some program which is unecessary at startup.
5. Disable some services. (If you don't know about services, plz don't try it)
6. Restart computer
7. End
