If you're aching to try out Chrome OS after taking a glimpse earlier today, friendly power user Mark Renouf has compiled a VMware image of Chrome OS for testing out in your virtual machine environment. While Chrome OS is far from ready for the regular user, lots of us are aching to play around a little with Google's young operating system. This virtual machine-friendly build looks like a good way to do just that, and you can grab it via BitTorrent now.
Google Chrome OS is an open source project to develop a lightweight computer operating system. Announced on July 7, 2009, it is set to be released during the second half of 2010. This project is all about the web. All apps are web apps. The entire experience takes place within the browser and there are no conventional desktop applications. This means users do not have to deal with installing, managing and updating programs.

Of course almost everyone around here knows the new Windows 7 features Aero Shake and AeroPeek. And some of you might have even tried some programs that try to mimic one of these tricks, but... most of them offer only one of these functions and aren't always working very fast and/or reliably. Besides, they often are rather big and demanding.
WinShake is very small and fast program to bring these Windows 7 features to Windows XP and Vista. Version 2.20 includes a lot of smaller improvements, on top of two all new functions!
Hackers have managed to find a way around one of the key antipiracy protections built into Windows 7. Ordinarily, the users are required to activate their copy of Windows 7 within 30 days. However, a recently outlined method allows the normal notifications to be turned off.
Two of the most prominent methods to bypass Windows 7 activation are RemoveWAT and Chew-WGA. These hacks are designed to disable the platform’s Windows Activation Technologies (WAT).
