The projected started last year in September for Chrome OS with handful of Android apps, but now has expanded to all the desktop platforms. To run your app, you need Android app's APK file and the ARC Welder app for Chrome.

Windows 10 will be a free upgrade, even for software pirates
win10.pngWindows 10 will be a free upgrade for Windows 7 and Windows 8 users, even if they are using a pirated version, Microsoft's Terry Myerson announced this today. This is a historic move in the battle against piracy. Speaking to Reuters, Myerson said: "We are upgrading all qualified PCs, genuine and non-genuine, to Windows 10."

Cortana is coming to Android and iOS
android.pngMicrosoft is now working on its personal assistant Cortana using research from an artificial intelligence project called "Einstein". The company has been running Cortana on its Windows phones for a year, and will put the new version on the desktop with the arrival of Windows 10. Later, Cortana will be available as an app, usable on Android and iOS devices.

Small Windows 10 devices won't get the desktop mode
metro.pngWindows 10 devices with screens smaller than 8 inches won't have the desktop mode. These devices will be limited to Metro-style apps. Traditional Windows applications will only work on the devices with 8-inch screens or larger. Whereas the Start screen is dead in the large screen devices. In Windows 10 build 9926, Microsoft has removed the option for launching the Start screen when Windows boots.
